Now i m having and issue where the garage only opens a couple inches and then closes a couple of inches and stops.

If the motor shaft moves back and forth through the motor more than 1 16th of an inch during operation it could lead to the door traveling only a short distance before reversing.
If that isn t the problem then try opening and closing the door with the wall switch.
