If you haven t already try removing and bringing the door sensor closer to the opener.
You can also automate your garage door to open and close based on a schedule your mobile presence or other smartthings connected devices whatever suits your needs.
Once i hit close open button again the status changes to open or close.
Then verify you get open close status by tilting the sensor in your hand.
